There are two great things about much of the music to be heard in Greater Portland:

1. The lengthy list of local performers with immense talent.

2. The fact that so many of them share their tunes for free.

Summer won't last forever

Already we've passed the halfway point of August, which means the falling leaves and morning chills are soon to follow. But don't give up on summer just yet. You still have a handful of pre-Labor Day evenings to enjoy so get out there and get it done.

If you're the type who enjoys walking along with the crowds, peering into one gallery and then the next, you've likely been getting a lot of exercise lately. Last week was Art Walk in Portland, which means this week there's art to be seen in Brunswick and Topsham.
