It's Thursday!

It's Thursday! Time for all you film fanatics to begin planning your weekend. Here is a little guide as to what is coming out this weekend in theaters.

"A History of Violence" starring Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris is about an average Joe who lives in small town USA. His friends and family think that they know him very well, but Ed Harris poses the question "Why is he so good at killing people?" when Viggo defends his small business from burglars.

HIS

This film is my personal pick for what you should see this weekend. However, I was very sad to learn that the only theater in Maine that will be picking up this film is Regal Cinema 8 in South Portland.

"Serenity" also comes out this weekend. This film is based off of the characters from the TV show "Firefly." I am not so enthused about seeing this film. I have seen the trailer for this film once and could barely tolerate sitting through it. I doubt I could sit through an hour and a half of this.

TORY

"Into the Blue" is also released this weekend and it stars Jessica Alba. I am thoroughly confused by both the trailers for this film and the trailer for "Serenity" because I cannot figure out what the film is actually about. From what I have gathered it is a film about a group of people who locate something very valuable in the ocean and these people are on a mission to retrieve it before a group of others do. I'd say this film was just made for people who are entertained by good looking people in bathing suits.
