THE FIRST GOOD MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

"Failure to Launch" stars Matthew McConaughey as a 35 year old man who is terrified of commitment and lives with his parents (played by Kathy Bates and terry bradshaw). In the film Tripp's (McConaughey) parents really want him out of the house so they hire a woman to pretend to be his girlfriend, so that he will fall in love and fly the coop.

This film is everything a romantic comedy should be. It's hysterical, but it doesn't just appeal to females. Guys will enjoy it just as much, if not more. The humor in the film is classic and will keep you laughing until the very end.

Oh, and just a warning. There is a nude scene in the film that you will very surprised by. Probably one of the funiest moments. I won't say who it is, though. You'll just have to find out on your own.

how can you say that a romantic comedy is "the first good movie of the year." 16 block is getting rave reviews. Plus Mathew McConaghey has really fallin off the good acting boat ever since "how to lose a guy in ten days." another crappy romantic comedy.

I can say this because

a) I tend to like romantic comedies, because they make you laugh and USUALLY make a person feel good. Fever Pitch was one of the best movies last year and that was a romantic comedy, and "The 40 Year Old Virgin" another romantic comedy, is the funniest movie I have seen in years.

b) Have you seen "Failure to Launch?" It is absolutely hysterical.

c) I seldom listen to other critics. I like to develop my own taste and frankly 16 Blocks wasn't very good.

d) I think McConaghey is a great actor. It just depends on what he's in. I for one thought 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" was very funny, and he was also great in "Frailty" in which he played an axe murderer.
